This afternoon, the Chair of ANSTO, Dr Annabelle Bennett, wrote to all staff to let them know that CEO Dr Adi Paterson has decided to resign. She said the Board is deeply appreciative of the contributions Adi has made, including to the health, research and academic outputs of ANSTO during his tenure. Mr Shaun Jenkinson will continue as Acting CEO, while the Board undertakes a global search for a permanent CEO.

The nuclear analysis team at ANSTO recently had a significant role in the re-design and optimisation of a cold neutron source facility for the reactor, its installation and the subsequent restart after a six-month shutdown.

The Australian Nuclear Association (ANA) has awarded Lubi Dimitrovski, former Manager, ANSTO Waste Operations (1995-2012) and former General Manager Nuclear Operations (2013-2018), its Award for 2022 in recognition of his leadership role in radioactive waste management in Australia.
