Our neutron scattering instruments are supported by a number of other in house laboratory instruments. Access to these are available in association with neutron scattering proposals.

Additionally, users can request sample environment, laboratory and access to computing infrastructure to support for their experiments. Links to details of what is available can be found below.

Bruker and Hecus Small-Angle X-ray Scattering instruments are available for a variety of sample environments.

Sample Environments

The Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering maintains a sample environment service for the instruments. It comprises a range of sample environments, two sample environment laboratories and four sample preparation laboratories.

ACNS Laboratories

The Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering Laboratories consists of four laboratories adjacent to the Neutron Guide Hall within the OPAL Neutron Beam Facility.

Scientific Computing

The Scientific Computing team supports researchers by performing numerical simulations that complement experimental research. In particular, we use state-of-the-art software to perform computational quantum mechanical modelling, molecular dynamics simulations, lattice dynamics calculation, data analysis and visualisations.
