ANSTO’s National Deuteration Facility has been providing high-quality deuterated lipids used in the construction of cell membrane models to support research that improves our understanding of how the virus interacts with elements of the cell membrane, a relatively new area of investigation.
ANSTO’s radioanalytical facilities are recognised internationally and have extensive experience in the measurement of radioactivity from a wide variety of matrices. Our primary radoianalytical techniques include gamma spectrometry and alpha spectrometry.

This week, ANSTO hosted the 10th annual Regional Advisory Safety Committee for research reactors in Asia pacific (RASCAP). This a joint IAEA-Asian Nuclear Safety Network (ANSN) supported forum to foster networking and regional cooperation, and for facilitating use of competencies in the region to cover specific safety issues in research reactors.
ANSTO, as the Australian centre for nuclear-related research and as the custodian of large research infrastructure is well-positioned to undertake research on molten sale based reactor systems using its capabilities and expertise.
