Jake studied Mechatronic Engineering at UNSW, completing a thesis on the development of a stair climbing wheelchair.
While studying, he worked at a space technology tech-startup championing a new type of orbital re-entry airframe.
Jake was responsible for the design and production of circuit boards that formed the basis of the companies first space mission.
The satellite carrying this technology is getting ready for launch on a Falcon9 rocket in the next few weeks.
Jake now works as a Mechatronic Engineer at ANSTO maintaining and innovating the particle accelerators, as well as the chemistry equipment required for radiocarbon dating.
