Role at ANSTO
Dr Izabela Milogrodzka is an instrument scientist for the SAXS/WAXS instrument. She assists and collaborates with visiting scientists, works with the sample environment team in commissioning new equipment within scattering team and is co-responsible for improving and expanding the capabilities of the SAXS/WAXS instrument.
Her expertise stems from earning a PhD at Monash University, where she concentrated on advancing therapeutic peptide-lipid nanomaterials. Her research primarily delved into comprehending peptide-membrane interactions and mechanisms, alongside exploring the impact of lipid membrane composition and arrangement on delivering antimicrobial and antiviral peptides. To achieve these objectives, Izabela successfully performed the SAXS/WAXS and SANS Beamlines at ANSTO Clayton and Lucas Heights. Izabela was granted with AINSE PGRA 2020 for her PhD research project including X-ray scatterings at the Australian Synchrotron, as well as neutron reflectometry and scattering at the Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering (ACNS).
