Over the last two days, ANSTO has been hosting a 3-person delegation from the 30-MW HANARO Research Reactor in Daejeon Korea: Dr. Baek Seok Seong, and Messrs. Sungil Park and Byoungil Jeon. In addition to giving a seminar on "Industrial Applications of Neutron Scattering at HANARO", the main agenda has to been to share experiences on the design and construction of instruments, specifically triple-axis spectrometers, like our TAIPAN and SIKA instruments. The abstract for the seminar is "HANARO (30MW) is one of powerful neutron sources in the world. In 2010, a liquid hydrogen cold neutron source was equipped in the HANARO. Now several neutron beam facilities on engineering materials such as two SANS, a powder diffractometer, a stress mapping instruments, a neutron image facility, and so on, are under operational. In this presentation, I would like to present the status and future plan of the neutron scattering facilities at HANARO and some results from industrial research." |
