Minister for Industry and Science, the Hon Ed Husic MP has formally announced the appointment of Mr Andrew Carriline as ANSTO Board Deputy Chairperson, effective from Thursday 9 May 2024.
Mr Carriline is an experienced business executive, commercially astute and highly skilled at operating successfully in regulated environments. He has faced some of the most challenging risk situations in the banking industry, such as the Global Financial Crisis and a risk transformation program for a large institutional bank.
ANSTO CEO Shaun Jenkinson extended a warm welcome to Mr Carriline.
“Mr Carriline’s background in corporate law and his experience across governance, risk, and financial management sectors will position the ANSTO Board strongly to deliver valuable contributions for the organisation,” Mr Jenkinson said.
After a long career at Westpac, Mr Carriline now follows his passions across financial inclusion, technology disruption and support for the Pacific through roles in the ‘for profit’ and ‘not for profit’ sectors.
Among other roles, he is currently the Chairman of a major bank in Papua New Guinea, a Non-executive director of the Human Rights Law Centre, and the Chair of the Business Advisory Council of the International Centre for Democratic Partnerships.
Mr Carriline holds degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of New South Wales and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company of Directors.
This is a three year appointment.
