Trace element analysis and surface characterisation

Aerosol sampling lab at the Centre for Acclerator Science
Ion beam analysis techniques on the accelerators can be applied to fingerprint trace elements, determine depth profiling and characterise the surface of materials. Some areas where the approach has been applied include:
- Aerosol (PM2.5) pollution monitoring
- Food provenance
- Fluorine contamination in food packaging
- Quantum and energy materials development
