Transport to Hotel
Participants are responsible for their own transport from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport.
Public Transport
Sydney’s public transport is cashless for all trains, buses, light rail and ferries. The cost of the ticket will depend on the distance travelled. Prices can be found here.
If you have a contactless payment enabled credit card or device (e.g mobile phone or smart watch) this can be used for payment. Be aware that your bank may charge overseas transaction fees. Alternatively, you can purchase an OPAL transport card or single trip ticket at the Domestic and International terminal railway stations or at any of these locations.
Please note there is surcharge to get on and off at the airport stations

Taxi – Please note an estimated fare from the airport to your hotel is approximately $80AUD and would take about 40 minutes in normal traffic (17km).
Uber is available in Sydney.
Hotel Details
ANSTO will be making hotel bookings for IAEA funded participants.
Bookings consists of:
- afternoon check in Sunday 15 October
- morning check out Saturday 21 October
- breakfast each morning
Participants not receiving IAEA funding are responsible for booking their own accommodation. If booking at Rydges please mention you are with the ANSTO group.

The closest train station to the hotel is Cronulla (7 min walk from station to hotel - 600 metres).
The Cronulla beaches are a 5-minute walk from the hotel. There is a wide range of cafes and restaurants in the area around the hotel and beach.
To travel by train from Cronulla to the Sydney CBD takes approximately one hour.
Transport to Venue
ANSTO have arranged transport between the hotel and ANSTO.
An ANSTO representative will meet you at Rydges hotel lobby at 7.45am on Monday 16 October. On Tuesday - Friday, the bus will depart at 8.30am from the designated bus spot marked by the purple star on the map below.
Please arrive promptly. If you miss the bus, you will be responsible for arranging your own transport to ANSTO by taxi or Uber. NOTE: There is no public transport to ANSTO.
Meals
Lunch will be provided each day of the course. A hospitality dinner will be held on Thursday 19 October at The Pines Cronulla. All other meals are the responsibility of participants. Please complete this form to state your preferred main meal choice before Friday 13th October.
